CHN’s AIDS Quilt Memorial Returns June 12

At Colorado Health Network, innovation and growth have always been grounded in remembrance. As we expand our services and deepen our reach across Colorado, we remain anchored to our origins, the individuals lost to AIDS-related illnesses, and the families and friends who continue to carry that grief.

We renew that commitment every summer at our AIDS Quilt Memorial.

A Tradition of Memory and Community

Launched in 2024, CHN’s AIDS Quilt Memorial brings together survivors, friends, family members, and community partners to honor those lost to AIDS while celebrating those living with HIV today. Now in its third year, the event has become a meaningful annual gathering for the Denver HIV community and beyond.

In August 2025, approximately 160 community members came together at the Pavilion at Cheesman Park for an afternoon of reflection, connection, and remembrance. The event featured ten panels of the iconic AIDS Memorial Quilt, each requested by the community and each with a direct connection to Colorado, along with quiet time for reflection and musical performances.

In 2025, speakers Dr. Bob Janowski, Paige Rawl-McNamara, Calvin Lavan Gipson, and Dr. Kellie Hawkins shared personal and professional perspectives on HIV in Colorado, offering a window into the past, an honest look at the present, and a sense of hope for what lies ahead.

Join Us at the 2026 AIDS Quilt Memorial on June 12

This year’s AIDS Quilt Memorial will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Pavilion at Cheesman Park in Denver. All are welcome.

Set against the backdrop of one of Denver’s most beloved parks, the event will once again feature ten panels from the AIDS Memorial Quilt, community tributes, and space for remembrance and connection.

Honor Their Legacy with a Gift in Memoriam

This year, CHN is encouraging those to give Gifts in Memoriam, a special fundraising effort in honor of those we’ve lost to the AIDS epidemic. Every dollar raised will help us continue the fight against HIV in Colorado, prevent future losses of life, and ensure that the legacy of those we’ve lost lives on through action.

If you’d like to support the event as a sponsor, please contact Associate Director of Development Christopher LaFleur at [email protected].

We hope to see you on June 12.
