Your time helps Colorado's HIV community access care, connection, and hope.

Apply to Volunteer

Volunteers are an essential part of how Colorado Health Network carries out its mission: equitably meeting the evolving needs of people affected by HIV and other health conditions through prevention, care, and advocacy. Whether you're stuffing envelopes, staffing a testing event, or showing up for a single community clean-up day, your time directly supports Coloradans living with and affected by HIV — across our offices in Denver, Colorado Springs, Fort Collins, Grand Junction, Greeley, and Pueblo.

What We're Looking For

Open Enrollment Facilitator

Volunteers will help facilitate the process of connecting individuals living with HIV to primary medical insurance, ensuring that all who need it have access to high-quality care. Volunteers will contact insurance carriers to request client member ID’s to facilitate payments. Additionally, volunteers will interface with clients, conducting outreach and scheduling support with Health Access staff.

STI
Tester

A volunteer tester helps support Colorado Health Network by administering STI tests including HIV, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, and Hepatitis C tests. Testing visits include educating clients about STIs and answering sexual health-related questions. This position gives volunteers the opportunity to give back to the community by allowing us to increase our appointment availability for free testing; empowers individuals with sexual health knowledge; and may help some individuals with college-required volunteer hours. Testing volunteers receive extensive training (40 hours) and ongoing supervision to enable them to do this important and sensitive work.

Front Desk/Clerical
Volunteer

The Front Desk Volunteer position requires no experience and enables individuals to help Colorado Health Network in an important way without needing extensive training, while also supporting community members and fellow volunteers. Volunteers must be friendly, personable, and able to self-start. This role is the first point of contact for clients when they come in for testing. This volunteer will facilitate check-in and check-out, create appointments, answer and transfer calls, answer basic inquiries, and other duties to deliver the highest quality customer service for our clients.

Event Support
Staff

Volunteers will assist in the execution of Colorado Health Network events. Duties and needs are diverse and vary by event.  They can include setup, teardown, auction item acquisition, guest management, checking guests in and out before and after events, talking to guests at public events, and more. Events may be indoors, outdoors, or hybrid.

Facilities Support
Volunteer

Assist with the upkeep and organization of our facilities. Responsibilities may include setting up spaces for events, helping with general cleaning, performing light maintenance tasks like painting and powerwashing, and ensuring that common areas are tidy and welcoming.

Community
Clean-Up

Join our Syringe Clean Up team to help create a safer and cleaner community. Volunteers will safely collect and dispose of discarded syringes in public spaces, following proper safety protocols and using provided protective equipment. Training and supplies are provided

Prevention Kitting
Volunteer

Volunteers will help assemble HIV/STI prevention kits that support the health and wellbeing of community members. Tasks include organizing supplies, packing items into kits, and ensuring each kit meets quality standards. This role is perfect for individuals who are detail-oriented, enjoy hands-on work, and want to make a direct impact by helping distribute essential resources to those in need.

Food Bank
Volunteer

CHN Food Bank Volunteers help ensure clients and other community members have consistent access to nutritious food. Volunteers support the day-to-day operations of our food pantry, providing a welcoming, respectful, and judgment-free environment for everyone who walks through the door.
