Health Insurance and Medication Access
Health Access Program
The Health Access Program at CHN provides financial assistance for medical services, health insurance premiums, and medication costs for Coloradans who are either living with HIV or who are utilizing PrEP as an HIV prevention strategy.
Exact services available depend on an individual ‘s HIV status and type of health coverage. The Health Access Programs are available to people who reside in Colorado and whose income is less than 500% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). We also provide health insurance navigation services that include impartial information on health plan coverage and benefits and empower individuals to select the best option for their individual needs.
Services for People Living With HIV
We work to assist those living with HIV who have private insurance, Medicare, Health First Colorado (Colorado Medicaid), and individuals without insurance with accessing HIV treatment. Available services are provided through the State Drug Assistance Program (SDAP) and are based on your insurance status.
Services for individuals on PrEP
Colorado Health Network administers the Public Health Intervention Program (PHIP), which provides financial assistance to individuals on PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis). PrEP is an FDA-approved, once-a-day pill that helps prevent new HIV infections. If you are on PrEP or starting it soon and would like to apply for PHIP, please review this page to determine what steps you need to take.
