This week, we observe LGBTQ+ Health Awareness Week — a time to celebrate the progress we’ve made in affirming, accessible healthcare for LGBTQ+ people, and to recommit ourselves to the work still ahead. At Colorado Health Network (CHN), that commitment is woven into everything we do. From our medical clinic in Denver to our dental services across the state, we are proud to offer care that meets our community members where they are.
Medical Services in Denver: A Home for Your Health
In 2019, CHN took a major step forward by opening a medical clinic at our Denver office, initially focused on serving people living with HIV (PLHIV) and those seeking PrEP or nPEP services. Since then, we’ve continued to grow — because our community’s needs continue to grow.
Today, CHN’s medical clinic operates as a patient-centered medical home, offering comprehensive primary care services designed with our community in mind. We provide an affirming, welcoming alternative to traditional healthcare settings for people seeking care related to HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, and transgender and gender non-conforming health needs.
Our clinical services include:
- HIV treatment and wellness exams for HIV-positive patients
- Hepatitis C treatment
- PrEP and nPEP services for HIV prevention
- STI testing and treatment
- Transgender and gender non-conforming care
What makes CHN’s approach truly different is our multi-disciplinary team model. Our care team includes AAHIVS Certified Nurse Practitioners, Dentists, Behavioral Health Clinicians, Clinical Patient Navigators, and Medical Case Managers — all working in concert to address not just your physical health, but your whole wellbeing. Behavioral health care is integrated directly into everyday clinical encounters, a uniquely holistic approach that sets CHN apart.

Dental Services: Available Across Colorado
Good oral health is an essential part of overall health — and for people living with HIV, it can be especially critical. CHN’s Howard Dental Center (HDC) was established in memory of Dr. John Howard, one of the first dentists in Denver to treat patients with HIV/AIDS, and has been serving HIV-positive patients since December 1994. What began as a vision of justice and compassion has grown into one of Colorado’s most important oral health resources, performing more than 10,500 dental procedures annually and serving as the dental home for over 1,200 active patients.
Dental services are currently available at CHN’s Denver, Colorado Springs, and Fort Collins offices.
HDC’s integrated model is designed to work hand-in-glove with physicians, mental health clinicians, and other supportive service providers. Like our medical clinic, Howard Dental Center represents the link between oral health and whole-person care – because we know that a healthy smile is connected to a healthy life.
