Virtual Festival For Life 5K Walk/Run
Striding Together – Virtually
No one expected 2020 would look quite like this.
But to many who survived the AIDS epidemic that began in the 1980s, the COVID-19 pandemic has caused many troubling memories to resurface. Those who lived during that time remember the fear, the discrimination and stigma, and the loved ones they lost, but they also remember people coming together in unity, strengthened by their communities, and the bravery so many displayed during a difficult and uncertain time.
As those impacted by HIV know all too well, the challenges of the HIV pandemic may have changed, but they have still not ended. To overcome the trials we face today we must find solace and solidarity in each other, regardless of the distance required by COVID-19.
To help keep our communities safe, 2020 will be the first time in our history that Festival For Life will be held virtually. We look forward to this unique opportunity to bring people together even from a distance and hope you will join us to commemorate the lives of those we have lost to AIDS-related complications, celebrate the resiliency of those living with HIV today, and continue working toward ending the HIV epidemic once and for all.
Together we strive. Together, we stride.
