Scotch Tasting Benefit featuring World Single Malts

The most intimate of Colorado Health Network signature events is the Scotch Tasting benefit featuring World Single Malts.

Held in the historic Cableland, the official residence of the Denver Mayor, the benefit supports programs, services and education for people living with HIV and other health conditions in the Denver metro community. The event is co-sponsored by Davidsons Beer, Wine & Spirits.

An Old and Rare Tasting

Brown-Forman is the spirts host for this year’s special event. Guests will be greeted with a Benriach cocktail and will enjoy some of the oldest and rarest Scotch available from the Benriach Distillery.

Guiding guests through the tasting tour is Kayla Borton. Kayla Borton is the Midwest Brand Ambassador for Brown-Forman Single Malt Scotches and Irish Whiskey and is flying in from Chicago to host the Friday special event. She has over 11 years of experience in the bar industry, and an extensive knowledge of spirits and cocktails. Over the years, her position has evolved to focusing her expertise and passion on Irish Whiskey, BenRiach being one.

Guests will enjoy Benriach 21 Year, Benriach The 21 (New), Benriach 25 Year Deluxe, Benriach 30 Year Authenticus, and the Benraich 30 Year.

Following the program, guests can enjoy dessert and coffee by the outdoor pool. All guests receive a Brown – Foman thank you gift.

Guests are treated to a five-star event. In addition to Single Malt Scotches from around the world, guests are pampered with served hor’doeurves, live entertainment and more!

Each guest receives an engraved Glencairn tasting glass, a program booklet and swag bag.

The Saturday benefit is limited to 160 guests.

Single Malt Scotch

Single Malt Scotch is single malt whisky made in Scotland according to Wikipedia. The whisky must be matured in oak casks in Scotland for at least three years.

During our first tasting benefit in 2013 we featured 63 various scotches. In 2019 guests had access to more than double the number of tasting samples.

Glencairn Whisky Glass

Designed by Raymond Davidson in the mid 1970s, according to the Glencairn Whisky Glass website, its development involved pulling together the master blenders from the five largest whisky companies and asking them to perfect his initial design.

Today the Glencairn Glass can be found at every distillery in Scotland, Ireland, Wales.
